I was inspired for this bass by the department store models of the 1960s – particularly Kay and Silvertone. I’ve always loved the “almost ugly” cosmetic appointments they frequently had, like gratuitous Pearloid and tortoise shell celluloid, and Dynasonic pickups are a favorite of mine as well.  -Adam

For my Woodstock bass I wanted to explore an oil finish and passive pickups to preserve the tonal capacity of its solid Quilted Maple body. Aesthetically I was inspired by strawberry milk – the pink pigmented oil, its natural fingerboard and mother of pearl inlays and side dots put it on the more delicate end of the aesthetic spectrum of what we can do here at the Custom Shop. Solid Buckeye wings with vintage J pickup spacing makes for a warm sound, and the wide 5 neck profile is very comfortable to play. I was going for an understated look with the vintage tint on the wings against the black neck block. This may be my favorite WCC build so far! – Colin

SKATEROCK- Growing up in the 1980’s, the two most influential things in my life were music, and skateboarding. My goal was to pay homage to the look of that era while keeping the classic Spector cocktail of maple tone woods and EMG pickups. I wanted to design a bass that screamed 80’s skate style. For my Woodstock bass this year, I wanted to have a somewhat subtle/minimalistic approach to my theme, The Little Prince.
