Limited Edition Basses for the Collector or Spector® Enthusiast From time-to-time Stuart Spector acquires rare tone-woods in limited amounts. On a limited-basis as such woods come available; Spector® will use them to build our SPECIAL EDITION “SE” LIMITED-RUN MODELS™. Our SPECIAL EDITION SERIES BASSES™ represent a new concept for our hand-made Workshop & Czech Republic instruments; limited runs each numbered as such. We've done limited run editions before but never broke the normal sequence of model numbers which started many years ago. The USA-made models will be specially signed and numbered by Stuart Spector, each run starting with serial “Number 1”.  The Czech Republic-made models will have fresh serial numbers which indicate the total number of instruments in the run and the number of the specific instrument within that run. Each SPECIAL EDITION SERIES™ instrument features rare wood bodies or a combination of rare hardware and finishing and will be numbered according to the availability of the materials. These instruments represent the best of what we have to offer in our hand-made USA and precision made Czech Republic instruments and as such they not only look and feel amazing, but promise to sound amazing as well. These models are only available from select Authorized Spector® Dealers™. AVAILABLE MODELS SE-1™ Flame Walnut NS-2J™ Highly Figured Walnut Burl over Walnut with two EMG® "J" pickups and the Aguilar® OBP-3™ 9-volt active tone circuit. Limited to a run of 14 guitars. SE-2™ Rare Walnut Burl NS-5H2™ Highly Figured Walnut Burl over Mahogany with two EMG® "TW" pickups and the Aguilar® OBP-3™ 9-volt active tone circuit. Limited to a run of 3 guitars. SE-3™ Camphor Burl NS-4H2™ or NS-5H2™ Highly Figured Camphor Burl over Mahogany with two EMG® "TW" pickups and the Aguilar® OBP-3™ 9-volt active tone circuit. Limited to a run of 12 guitars (six 4-string & six 5-string instruments). SE-4™ Brooklyn-Style Flame Walnut NS-2™ Brooklyn Style NS-2™ with original Leo Quan Badass I bridge in chrome, Spector® 9-volt active tone circuit and vintage style mother-of-pearl Crown Inlays.
